Starring: me and ~Ssatch B-)

This was actually an assignment for a class this semester - a personal narrative about how some piece of art had impacted me. I chose to write about the Redwall games I played in grade school, and it's probably the best paper I wrote for this class (I'm much better at narratives than essays, blech).

I just thought some of y'all might enjoy it. And it's a good excuse to try and figure out how this text thing on dA works.

Ah, Redwall! I was the kid who would sit inside on a sunny day, reading redwall books. I was completely addicted. I pretty much had no friends, and the ones I did have, had no idead what Redwall was. Anyways, I'll stop balbbering on about my life. I really like how the bends and curves in the clothing aswell as otter and the fox's anatomy. It's VERY well done. You Are officailly amazing, and officailly watched.

It's a kewl piece. I always felt sorry for some of the "baddies" in the series. You seem like a person who would be up to date with it. If you ever hear of a new redwall book by brian jacques you'll let me know won't you?

It's kewl that they come out with those comic books for the series but I like to use my imagination in this kind of stories.

I REMEMBER THIS!

Ahhh... those were the days. Except I know how to make a story that isn't overly improbably and cliche now. XD

Oh wow. That gives me some serious flashbacks of my fifth grade. I always did the exact same thing with my friends. I mean like… every recess we'd either be out on the playgrounds in our own little Redwall universe, or we'd be in the library discussing the newest book. There was actually one time where we all made up our faces with magic markers to look like the Juskarath. :lmao: Of course they all eventually grew out of Redwall, but I never did. :)

I seem to recall being about 15 and having a "Redwall feast" during the summer with my three friends. It was delicious. :D

:aww: That's so sweet! Makes me really wish I'd known about Redwall when I was younger; I have a feeling I would have read 'em voraciously, too! As it stands, I read the Chronicles of Narnia (of course) at least twice, all the way through, a number of Hardy Boys. Later I got into Star Trek and Star Wars fictions, but that was later later, around the age of 16. Now I'm reading lots of random comics, random classics, and random new books that I've been told are (and truly are) good.

I really wasn't all that into reading unfortunately, as I caught the computer games bug. I'd waste away hours on that confounded thing. I have a lot of catching up to do ;)

Great job on the story you wrote here, it was absolutely adorable. :aww:

Y'know, it kinda makes me glad my parents never allowed Nintendo in the house. Would I have done all this if I had been able to sit down every day and play video games? Maybe, but there's a good chance I would have missed out on a lot.

Computer and video games are fine and OK, but in moderation they're even better.

Actually, my parents never allowed that, either! The only platform I had available was PC (as my dad was very high-tech ;)). There are a lot of PC games out there ;P

Looking back, I wish my parents would have regulated my computer time more, even though I would have really hated it. The only thing is, if it wasn't for computer games, I wouldn't be here! It's a long (pretty interesting) story... I should probably write a journal about it. :XD:

You're quite right, though! Video games can be a very bad thing for someone who's trying to be productive, though if you play them every once in a while, it can be a healthy escape. :P I hardly ever play them anymore... I keep getting new ones too, that I want to play, but I hardly get to them.

Too busy.
