Thyre lives in the forests east of Redwall. When he was younger his parents died during a famine, and he was raised by his grandfather. A few years later the area was invaded by a pine marten warlord by the name of Valcyn. Thyre's village was one of the ones he raided for slaves to build a fortress, and Thyre himself was captured, his grandfather killed. When Valcyn's fortress was completed, he used the remaining slaves as gladiators, and repeatedly sent raiding parties out into the woods to bring in fresh meat. Over the years of captivity Thyre himself became one of Valcyn's most skilled gladiators, and is also one of the older ones. He and his best friend Jarren the otter managed to escape Valcyn and go to Redwall, but their past followed them there. Valcyn killed Jarren, motivating Thyre to return to his homeland to seek revenge.

Ah you make me want to go and read this...I will once I have time, I must say I love how this guy came out, his design is brilliant and I just love how his personality just shows so nicely...that statement would be more accurate once I read it. I wonder, how much did something like this cost?
